My name is Tiffany Lausen—thanks for taking the time to check out a bit about who I am. I hope this page will help to acquaint us and give insight into what inspires my work. I first and foremost became a photographer because I love to celebrate life. While traveling in my twenties, I was captivated by other cultures and people I observed who visibly lived life to the fullest. These folks loved each other and prioritized family—and there was something entirely compelling about capturing moments that embraced this lifestyle. We have this one life to live, and I fully believe we need to soak it up and make the most of it. And that’s what drives my passion for photography and shaped the creation of Red Owl Photography when I settled in Bend, Oregon several years ago.
My soul comes alive around those I love and am fortunate enough to get to know and work with. My being finds rest in places I feel the most natural—whether it’s hiking in a beautiful Central Oregon setting or at home sipping hot coffee under a cozy blanket and reading, or perhaps deep in conversation with a trusted friend. Laughter is an avenue for not only my enjoyment but a way to connect with other people for me. In these times and with people who know me well I celebrate life the most. In my work photographing others I want to find out the same sorts of things about each person—what makes them smile, laugh, rest from the daily grind and come alive with life. It makes each session fun—and I like to have fun and laughter with others on a daily basis.
It blesses me immensely to capture images of families playing together, a mother’s eyes focused in love toward her new baby, kids laughing hysterically, a newborn at home in his or her first days of life, a young couple expressing their delight as newly found soul mates, a child’s curiosity in something just discovered during an outdoor session…all flashes in time that rejoice in life and those we love. What a gift it is to share such moments and what an incredible job I have capturing such celebration.
